The Heathman Lodge: A Green Hotel in Vancouver, WA

Devoted to Our Guests and Our Planet

Sustainability Thrives Throughout The Lodge

The Heathman Lodge has always been committed to being stewards of the land and has led the way in establishing sustainable practices. Whether it’s working with local farmers to find the freshest local foods or partnering with outreach programs to help strengthen our community, sustainability goes a long way here at The Lodge, making us the premier eco-friendly and green hotel in Vancouver, WA.

To us sustainability truly is an ongoing process. We’re never done looking for ways to strengthen our stewardship of this amazing Northwest environment.

What We Do For The Earth, Every Day

  • Use energy efficient lighting and appliances throughout the property
  • Recycle everything we possibly can: 100% food composting; glass, cooking oil, and florescent bulb recycling
  • Shrink our carbon footprint with offsets purchased to lessen transportation impact
  • Reduce water usage by over 250,000 gallons per year, thanks to efficient laundry equipment
  • Further reduce water use through water-saving faucets and showerheads
  • Use non-phosphate, nontoxic, biodegradable laundry detergents
  • Keep an active sustainability committee busy implementing an ongoing environmental purchasing policy
  • Participate with free range eggs programs
  • Use durable recycled tire mats in Hudson’s Bar

Besides being active business members of the Natural Step Framework (a global nonprofit founded to educate and effectively advance society towards sustainability), The Heathman Lodge is also a founding member of the Clark County Green Business Program. We meet the programs six key areas, minimizing environmental impact:

  • Storm water management
  • Waste reduction and recycling
  • Water use and recycling
  • Purchasing and toxics reduction
  • Energy efficiency
  • Community engagement
